太陽農園
Welcome to Taiyofarm! since1992
In April 1992, I started farming as a new farmer, beginning with just a hoe.
Grateful for the blessings of the sun.
Nice to meet you 🌞 This is Taiyo Farm.
From autumn to spring, we grow sweet peas, and from spring to summer,
we cultivate chinese lantern plants and green peppers.

Blessed with wonderful encounters, since the opening of the farm, many people’s kindness has helped nurture ‘Taiyo Farm.’
We celebrated our 30th anniversary in 2022.
Thanks to the amazing farm staff, warm customers, trusted flower markets, business partners, and related organizations, kind neighbors, and my beloved family… we owe everything to the support of all these people.
Starting from scratch, with 30 years full of ups and downs, and embodying the spirit of ‘fall seven times, stand up eight,’ I am still learning every day.
From now on, we will continue to grow better flowers and crops with all our hearts, to bring happiness to many people.

From opening until now

We, Taiyo Farm, started from a small sweet pea house 8a.
In the second year, we began cultivating roses, opened a direct flower sales shop, and started the ‘Flower Direct Delivery’ service.
From the third year onward, we gradually expanded our greenhouses and also challenged ourselves with growing delphiniums and other flowers.
Later, we returned to focusing on sweet peas, which were more suitable for the climate.
After the Great East Japan Earthquake in March 2011, which severely impacted sweet pea sales, we began cultivating chinese lantern plants and green peppers as a follow-up crop to sweet peas starting in 2012.

Since the opening of the farm, we have welcomed many trainees, including students from agricultural universities, aspiring new farmers, and workplace experience students from middle schools, high schools, and special support schools.
Additionally, in collaboration with local welfare facilities, we engage in agricultural activities with people with disabilities through agricultural welfare partnerships.

Currently, the total farmland area is approximately 100 a, with 60 a under cultivation.
During the peak season for sweet peas, there are about 25 staff members, and during the harvest season for chinese lantern plants and green peppers, around 20 people work together.
We all work as one team, enjoying ourselves and combining our efforts.

Tomomitsu Nozaki

Born in 1964 in Saitama Prefecture, where he spent his childhood.
In the second grade of elementary school, he moved to Nichinan, the hometown of his parents.
Coming from a family with no agricultural background, he developed a longing for farming during his middle school years. He went on to attend the Takamine Agricultural High School (Livestock Department) and later the Faculty of Agriculture (Livestock Science) at Miyazaki University.
After graduation, he spent two years in Nebraska, USA, as part of a farm training program.
Upon returning to Japan, he worked for a livestock company.

Introduction to Kazeta, Nichinan City

風田盆踊り

Kazeta Bon Odori

August 14th
We visit households observing their first Bon (obon) and offer prayers for the deceased with a solemn dance. This is a traditional performance passed down since the Edo period. The Kazeta Bon Odori song is a descending song that travels south from Mimitsu in Hyuga City to Kushima.

風田黒砂糖作り「さとねり」

Kazeta Black Sugar Production Satoneri

Early December
Kazeta is the only place in Miyazaki Prefecture where the traditional method of making black sugar, passed down since the Edo period, is still practiced. Once the fire is lit, it is impossible to cool the kiln, so work continues for several days.
