The red fruits are blended in a mixer to extract the seeds, which are then sown in seedling trays.
Hozuki seeds are small, resembling white sesame seeds.

The leaves grow large, but the above-ground parts will wither during winter. It is important to focus on strengthening the roots during the winter months.

Underground rhizomes are dug up, cut into 3-4 cm sections, and planted one by one in the soil of a cell tray to grow into seedlings.

4月

After the sweet peas are finished, the ridges are re-tilled, and the seedlings are planted. Side shoots are removed, and the plants are trained to a single stem, which is supported by string for support.

5月

When the white flowers begin to bloom, bumblebee hives are set up and the bees are released to promote pollination and improve fruiting.

6月

To ripen the fruits all at once, a plant growth regulator called Esrel is applied.

7月

The fruits turn red, signaling the start of the harvest season.
